How to Draw A Maple Leaf
Follow along with our easy Maple Leaf doodle tutorial. Simply follow each step by drawing the part of the doodle in ORANGE.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide where you want your maple leaf on your page and start by drawing three straight lines. The middle line is longer with the two side lines meeting at a point in the bottom. These form part of the veins for the leaf.
Step 2
Next, draw two more lines for the lower veins of the maple leaf. These are shorter than the previous lines in step 1.
Step 3
The stem of your maple leaf will be next. This is a long triangular shape that meets up with the joining point of the veins in your leaf.
Step 4
To make things easy we will draw the outer part of the leaf, one half at a time. Think about the traditional maple leaf shape and draw this around the outside of your veins, finishing at the stem. We suggest doing this very lightly in pencil until you are happy with the shape you have created.
Step 5
Now replicate this as best you can on the other side of the leaf. Again we suggest lightly in pencil first. And remember, nature is NOT perfect, so your doodle does not have to be either!
Step 6
The last step is to have fun and color your leaf in! Think of all the beautiful fall colors like burnt orange, reds and browns for this!
