Instructions

Step 1

Decide where you want your cute dog doodle on the page and start by drawing a circle. You can leave as a circle for a simple puppy doodle or try and create a shape similar to the image for a more detailed doodle.

Step 1 of drawing a dog: outline of the head in simple red lines.

Step 2

Next add the ears. You can make these triangular in shape for an easy dog doodle or add some shape by curving the ears and creating a small indent on each of the outer parts of the ears. Add a small semi-circle in each ear for the inner part of the ear.

Step 3

For the nose, draw an oval shape ( I also added a smaller oval to create some depth to the doodle), then draw your dog's snout. Think of these as three circle shapes overlapping ( you can even lightly pencil three circle and then erase the inner lines)

Step 4

Draw two ovals for your dogs eyes ( again I added smaller ovals inside these for some character). You could also try different styles of eyes too, have fun and experiment. For the patches draw four slightly curved lines coming from the snout to the edge of the head like shown in the image.

Step 5

The body is probably the trickiest part of this dog doodle but just try to think of simple shapes and lines.

Draw a straight line down from the head for the side of the body, then a shorter straight line for the leg. A simple oval makes the foot of your dog.

Next draw a long slightly curved line that comes from the head down to be in lone with the foot, this is your dogs front leg. A short straight line for the front paw, then slightly behind, another straight line joining to the oval for the dogs back leg.

Lastly, a small curve for the front paw with a straight line coming up from the paw for the front leg. You can add some small lines to add detail to the front paws.

Step 6

Repeat step 5 but for the other side of the body. You want to try and get them fairly even but they do not have to be perfect or exact mirror images. I draw small dots using the first side as a reference so I know where lines will start and finish.

Step 7

Here you can add your dog's collar ( if you want one). I also have drawn a small bone but you could do a disk with your dog's name, a heart or even a flower.

Step 8

Add some details for fun. I gave my dog doodle a tongue, paw prints and some dots for whiskers but you can leave your doodle without or add other details.

Step 9

You have reached the last step. And that is to have fun and color your dog drawing. You can copy the image or have fun personalizing your dog doodle in any colors you want.
