How to Draw a Deer Doodle with Simple Shapes
Every great deer doodle starts with a few easy shapes. Begin with an oval for the body and a smaller circle for the head. Use a thin neck to connect them, and then sketch long, gentle lines for the legs. Add a small tail and a pair of pointy ears.
Next, draw soft curves for the antlers, keep them simple if you’re a beginner. Think of them as branches growing upward. Add round eyes, a button nose, and a tiny smile to make your cute deer drawing extra lovable.
Once you’ve outlined your simple deer drawing, you can go over it with a pen and erase the sketch lines. Then you can shade or color in your deer to bring it to life.
Easy Tips for a Cute Deer Drawing
A deer drawing cute starts with expression and posture.
Try these tips for an adorable touch:
- Make the eyes large and round for that sweet, innocent look.
- Add small blush spots on the cheeks.
- Use gentle curves instead of sharp lines for a soft appearance.
- Add a few dots on the back for a fawn-inspired design.
If you want a deer easy drawing that looks more cartoon-like, exaggerate the head and shrink the body slightly, that gives a deer cute drawing vibe perfect for planners or stickers.

Instructions
Step 1
Start with a circle for the deer’s head. Add two soft curves inside to show where the face will go.

Step 2
Draw two big eyes and a tiny nose in the middle. Then a curved mouth underneath. Add some cute details like spots on the forehead and eyelashes to give your deer character.

Step 3
Leaving enough room for the antlers you will add in the next step, add two pointy ears on top of the head, one on each side, to make your deer look alert and curious. Don't forget to add the inner part of each ear.

Step 4
Now draw the antlers above the ears. Give each side a few simple branches, they don’t have to be perfect!

Step 5
Draw the back of the deer’s body and one back leg bending gently. This will make your deer look like it’s standing gracefully. Don't forget to add a cute bobbed tail.

Step 6
Add the chest and one front leg stretching down to a small hoof.

Step 7
Draw the other legs behind so your deer has all four legs.

Step 8
Add some oval spots along the deer’s back to finish the cute details.

Step 9
Color your deer! Use shades of brown for the body, a lighter color for the belly and spots, and a soft tan for the face and legs.

So grab your pen, open your sketchbook, and give it a go! Follow the how to draw deer step by step guide and enjoy the calm that comes with doodling something gentle and sweet.
Once you finish, your deer doodle will be ready to hop into your journal, planner, or even your wall art collection.
