How to Draw Yarn
Follow along with our easy Knitting Yarn doodle tutorial. Simply follow each step by drawing the part of the doodle in PURPLE.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide where you want your Ball of Wool doodle on the page and start by drawing a circle with a flat bottom. We want our Ball of yarn drawing to be on an angle so have but the circle on the angle we want.
Step 2
Next, draw the packaging for the Yarn ball. This is a rectangle type shape but make sure you curve the edges slightly.
Step 3
Then draw a second circle for the bottom of the ball of yarn.
Step 4
Have fun adding the lines of wool next. To mimic how a yarn ball is wound up we start with some curved lines on the top left of the yarn ball.
Step 5
Now add more curved lines put at a different angle in the bottom of the top circle.
Step 6
Then begin on the bottom circle by adding a few curved lines on the left side.
Step 7
Next, fill in the rest of the bottom circle with more curved lines at a different angle.
Step 8
Add a loose thread for interest.
Step 9
The last step is to have fun and color your Ball of Yarn drawing. You can add some knitting needles too.
